We are a traditional old fashioned butchers shop in the tiny hamlet of Barling Magna, close to Thorpe Bay & Southend. Our modern shop is easy to find with ample free parking. We specialize in low fat sausages and in particular our award winning Barling Beauties. These can be found in the Plough & Sail and The Castle Wakering pubs. As well as Oliver's on the Beach and Attic Cafe. Also the 5* Suenos Guest House. We make Borewoes, a traditional South African sausage and a range of specialty sausages using the best quality meat and ingredients. All using natural sausage skins.
We stock a range of Game in season, fresh Suffolk Natural chickens and local fresh Turkeys and Geese.
We stock Salt Marsh Lamb, Rare Bread Pork sourced locally, Scotch Premier Beef, Dutch Veal and other unusual cuts to satisfy the needs of the TV chefs.
We cure and smoke our own bacon, gammon and hams the traditional way.
In the Summer we have our own extensive range of marinated BBQ food including kebabs, burgers, bangers and meat.
Local Free Range Large Eggs are always in stock. As are Haggis and Black Puddings.
We pride ourselves on our quality and service. As much fat as possible is removed from the meat to achieve best results and can be boned or left on the bone as per customer requirements.
Orders can be taken by phone, text or email and will be made ready for pick up to avoid queuing.
The shop is open on Thursday with a display Friday and Saturday mornings 8.00am until 2.00pm but I am generally available before then so please give me a call to discuss your own requirements or for expert advice. I can even offer tips on cooking to achieve the best results for your purchases.
